Are there any local places to buy silicone to reseal a tank?  I checked what Lowes / Home Depot carries and they say "not for aquarium use".  I assume they leak toxins into the water.   What Silicone is safe for an aquarium?

What kind of silicone are you looking at that says "not for aquarium use"?

I've heard a bunch of times that the generic is good stuff, just make sure it's not the mildew resistant stuff.  I'll check mine at home and make sure it doesn't say that, but I'm pretty sure it's ok

I use GE Silicone I for doors and windows on my tanks.  As above make sure whatever you use does NOT say mildew resistant.

I've heard the silicone I is safe and silicone II is not.  I just wanted others experience to verify.  The GE Silicone II tube states "not for aqaurium use".
Thanks for the information.  Fortunately it is my sump that leaked and not my tank.

I bought some silicone from Home Depot that was marked "FOR Aquarium Use", it was over by the paint actually.... that was only a few months ago so maybe try another HD and see if they have it?

I have some of the HD stuff too, it's DAP brand. Grey tube, blue writing, black band around the top inch or so of the tube.  Good luck :)

The problem is all of the new stuff they are bringing in has non-mildew stuff in it which is bad for tanks.
I had been buying the stuff from HD, for years until they started adding the anti-mildew stuff

I forgot they had the small tubes.
The problem is I go through alot of it when I do tanks so I like to buy the big cartridges for the calk guns.

I'll have to check some of the other home depot stores for the DAP.  The one I went to didn't carry it.  Home Depot also stopped stocking the GE Silicone I.  All of the silicone they sale either says "not for aquariums" or "mildew resistant".  I also checked Lowes.  They carry GE Silicone I, but it does say not for aquariums.  I'll keep looking and post something when I find I place to buy it.
