I have a 120 48/24/24 that is now running 6 power heads to ensure adequate flow and no dead spots. I have a ref/sump but the water return is very slow..I cant speed it up because the ref/sump will not handle more water should the power go out... I am wanting to do some kind of black pipe that would run along the back of the tank and would have an adjustable head and would push as much as having all 6 heads running without the nasty sight of them, So, the plumbing I can handle. Its the pump and how to get the water to it that I am wanting help with.... Boy, Im not sure this even makes sense to me

It makes total sense. We call it a "closed loop" A search here on the board will turn up lots of answers.
