Asterina Star. Most are harmless, some are not. I take them out of my tank when I find them. Many other people leave them. Some of them eat SPS.

he is in my tank with nothing in it except LR. How big do they get? SPS is like digi and green slimer stuff right? I can never keep that straight

They don't really get any bigger than that, Cameron
 
Unless you get some SPS - and - they start bothering it I would just let them be... I have quite a few in my 225 and I have not seen them go anywhere near my SPS corals...

Yes he is full grown and those corals you mentioned are SPS (small polyp stony corals.)

As stated many are harmless.  I have hundreds of them in my 150 gallon reef at my office.  If I stand and count them I can I can get to 100 without even trying.  My clients think they are great.  They notice them first of anything in the tank.  IDIOTS!ConfusedLOL

They reproduce by growing extra legs, as the one in your pic has done, and then splitting and becoming 2, then 4, then 8, 16, 32, 64, 128,...well you get the idea.Wink
