i just recently bought a cleaner shrimp and i was just wondering if you are supposed to feed them? and if so what to feed them?

It will scavenge food that you feed the fish.

I agree with Shane. I used to feed mine pellet food once in a while too, just for fun. I would hold a single pellet in my hand and the shrimp would come up to my hand and take it. It got so I couldn't put my hand in the tank without two cleaner shrimp climbing all over me. They also came out quite a bit when I was near the tank.

It's really great when kids come over too! Especially if you can get them to hold still while the shrimp crawl all over their arm!

My cleaner shrimp cleans the water very well. He is the first one there everytime I add food to the tank. Its the fattest one I have ever seen. The funny thing is I have never seen it try to clean any of my fish just the food in the water. It does like to clean my hand and arm when ever I stick it in the tank though.
