I thought this was so funny, I had to post it. My peppermint shrimps sit underneath my carpet anenome and refuse to leave.

It was really annoying the carpet anenome at first cause he kept wanting to grab them and eat them, but they were too smart to go on top of him.

Even when he shrivels up at night and flattens himself out on the rock, they still tuck their butts under him and won't leave. I figure they are using him for protection from the bigger fish that might eat them.

I thought it was cute anyway. hehe

I will just give my warning that your system will flood, bulbs will burn out, and things will take continuous maintenance... get over it.

I'm embarrassed to say that last week, when I was first looking at Improdigals tank and he mentioned a carpet anemone, I asked "Where?" At first I thought it was a Toadstool Leather!

I also agree, that is a very nice pic of some smart shrimp hosting under the Carpet!
Everyone check under your carpet, you might have shrimp!

Just finished pulling up all my carpet and no shrimp, got some pototo bugs though.

That is a pretty cool pic.  What kind of rock is the anemone attached to?  Kind of looks like a dead coral skeleton of some kind to me.  How big is the Anemone and how small are the shrimp?  Mine are big enough to eat the fish rather than the other way around.

Yup, it's an old Coral skeleton that came with the tank. Looks kinda like a dead carpet to me. The shrimp are pretty tiny, about 1 1/2" long is all, so from that you can figure the Carpet anenome is about 6" across when he stretches out.
