I got the idea about 4:00 PM yesterday to head out to Aquatic Dreams in Clearfield. I'd heard good things here and have wanted to see what they had going.
After checking the website and calling to verify their hours, we piled in the whole family (4 kids) and headed out. I really appreciate businesses like this that don't like to keep bankers hours. Aquariums aren't a 9-5 hobby.
It took just over an hour to get there, and once inside I was quite pleased. The store was clean, open and well lit. I liked that their display tank was in space, out of the main traffic so we could enjoy it at leisure without feeling like we were constantly in other people's way. It takes some time to really look at and appreciate a nice SW setup.
They werre surprisingly busy, which I suppose is a good sign.
To my untrained eye, their livestock appeared to be quite healthy and active. The prices didn't seem bizarre one way or another, but I was happy with the size of most things they were selling.
I had a chance to talk to a couple of the staff and was really happy with how easy and pleasant they were to talk with. No arrogance or condecending tones for someone as green as myself. I wouldn't hesitate to go back for more advice.
I priced some of the stuff they had on their hardware wall and it seemed pretty steep... bulbs, scrapers, all things I've bought online for less including shipping. Do they do sales or is this normal?
The one thing I saw and like that I've not seen before.... Pavona. What a great looking coral.
The overall experience was really great and went a logn ways in "selling" the family on making the plunge into SW... and how can you put a price on that?

My wife and I decided to go there for the first time. I too noticed the store was very clean and there were a lot of corals and fishes to choose from. The staff were very nice and we'd spent an hour there.
I'd ended up purchasing 2 Anthias and Banggai Cardinal from them.
Again, great store.

They have allways been very helpfull and friendly to me aswell. I have bought most all my fish there, and most my coral. I stikll have never had a coral die, and most of there fish are healthy. I had a tang die on me after a couple weeks once, but other than that all the fish I have bought from them are still alive. They do have 20% off sells on most everything in the store twice a year. ------------- |

| Im always there of course I just live down the road from it. But I would have to say that there store is very easy on the eyes and the wallet. The staff is very friendly and will not push you away if you have questions or if you just want to BS with them. If you have never been there I would say load up in the car and drive there to check it out it time will spent. |

It's a good thing I don't live closer to them. I'd be there all the time. 
I have always been pleased when I go there. Next time your in, express to Ryan and/or his guys how much you appreciate the support and donations that they give to the club each year. Aquatic Dreams has donated several tanks for raffles, Tons of Corals for frag fests, Gift certificates for the barbecue etc etc etc.
I know Ryan knows how much the presidency appreciates his generosity but it would be nice to hear it from the club members. | Aquatic Dreams is a great store. Beautiful tanks and healthy livestock. I picked me up a nice Red & Green Trachyphyllia and Neon-eye Favia this weekend. Anybody that hasn't been there, definitely worth a trip! |

| I told Ryan that I was there because they were spoken very highly of on UtahReefs.com - so I suppose I did my share in reciprocating and letting him know who's helping butter their bread. Having good LFS for SW is critical to the hobby. More so than for FW. |

For those that don't know. Aquatic Dreams also does full service installation and maintenance. Here is a 300g tank they installed on Friday.

Looks like a brand new house. I'd take out a section of carbet and tile it. FW is terrible on carpets so I know SW is going to be that much worse.
Great-looking tank, btw. Any ballpark on what that costs as pictured?
