im just curious if this is going to shock everything, or if I'll be ok... or what I can do, I just switched out my 75gallon tank to a 150, filled the new one with new salt/water 1.025   Oceanic...... I didn't dose anything.... but now my  DKH is reading 16+ 5.71+ Meq/L

the ph is 8.2
everything else tests out fine too...

just the alk is through the roof

well the livestock is still in a rubbermaid  I'm just wondering if I need to aclimate them over or if I could just toss them in?  all levels match up between the two besides KH/Alkalinity

Are you sure you are reading the test right? It would be very difficult to achieve 16+ in a large system. To answer your question I think it would shock and kill stony corals.

I would acclimate due to the alk difference.

Yeah I ever re tested 3 times.... to be honest I had a hard time keeping alk over 7.0 on the 75.... but yeah im not sure why it shot so high up.... maybe it could be that there is still a bit of dust floating from the sand? or would that even make a difference

Also my magnesium reads around 1350 and calcium around 475.... if that matters =) and the water is still just a little dusty from when I added the sand... could that affect readings at all?

Yes that can matter a lot. I MG is low then Alk/CA will not be stable. Your MG is perfect. With CA that high I doubt your Alk is also that high.

I can almost be certain your alk isn't 16. Not with Ca and Mg in those ranges. My guess is a bad test kit. What brand of test kit? I heard Salifert brand is having some major issues lately. I was about to buy some Salifert but when I read how bad they are right now I backed off. Gonna get some Elos test kits instead.
