Help!

Anyone know how this can be remedied?

Instead of sucking air IN, it's pushing water oUT!

Air tubes commonly get clogged with gunk, but Im not sure what would be causing water to come out. There are so many different designs of skimmers out there It would help to know the brand and even the model number?

There may be too much pressure on the inside of the skimmer like the skimmer is sitting too low in the water or the pump is not powerful enough, got clogged or something. What skimmer is it? Can you post a pic?

Did you turn the skimmer off recently? try blowing into the air line...if none of the above fix the problem.

Um. How about my return pump had died? Ugh. Anyway - I have added a UV sterilizer (drop in) Replaced my return pump with a Fluval 450 canister filter, so now I have the sump and it's media, refugium, the additional canister filter, UV sterilizer, and the water has never looked clearer. The intake for the protein skimmer is now sucking air as opposed to pushing water Geek

So that was the problem then? I am glad that you got it fixed. How are your fish doing?

I added the extra filtration because I thought it was part of why they weren't making it. The water is crystal clear now - remember you'd commented on how the water was a little dirty before? And I've treated for white spot - which I think was the problem. My nitrates are down to half what they were when you were here as well.
