| I'm going to be building a small refugium that I will be connecting to my current sump. I want to try my hand at acrylic tank building and was wondering where to get all of the supplies. I know that Home depot has Plexiglas that I could use, but I didn't know where to get the different glues at. Any ideas? |

One place I would check for good prices on plexiglass and glue is jones paint and glass in provo, they will even custom cut sizes for you. That way you can skip everything but gluing
I'm not sure how much cheaper it is, but it's worth checking

You should use cell cast acrylic not plexi, then use weldon #4, and #16 to seam it together. | keep both lowes and home depot out of this project. They don't even sell what you need or do they know what they are talking about when it comes to doing something like this. |

You can use the calculator here to find the thickness you need http://regalplasticsupply.com/Library/Aquarium%20Thickness%20for%20Website.xls - http://regalplasticsupply.com/Library/Aquarium%20Thickness%20for%20Website.xls Personally if I am doing 12" tall or less I would use 1/4", I think it is easier for me and people with inexperiance working with acrylics to bond the thicker material.

Not only is it easier to work with the tank looks much nicer with a little more thickness on the acrylic.
