I am pretty new to keeping sps how long does it take for an acro to really start to color up after you get it in your tank?

It really depends on your lighting, the parameters of your tank and what the sps frag is.

My tank is pretty nice best of every thing, I am not trying to brag I could of paid off my truck or something with the money I have spent on my addiction! my parameters are all as close to sea water as I can get them and I am running 400 watt 20k mh

I have noticed it takes about 2 months for color to start balancing out
in a new peice of SPS. Wether you get it as a frag from somone or a
peice from the store. Not to bag or anything but most sps receive about
a 4500k spectrum in the wild. so in saying that you will get sweet
color but you may limit some sps peices color and helth potential. I
recomend 10ks to make the corals thrive and actinic VHOs to bring out
the colors for astetics. IMO but to each their own.
