Quote Does anyone know where to get one or what I can do to to the leak...

If your line is leaking you can of course replace the line completely or cut and "patch" with a fitting.

Home Depot carries what I believe are the standard 1/4 and 3/8 inch lines and fittings. I used a variety of their products to connect and control my RO unit.

Also, have you tuned your RO?

Hello everyone,

Now I'm confused too..

Are we talking about the line/tube/hose that connects your RO to your new sump? Most RO units use 1/4" plastic hose and fittings you can find at HD.

Where exactly are you losing water? The RO unit? The clean water connection to the RO? The clean water line has a hole? The clean water connection to the sump?

Is there pressure in the line that causes the leak?

HTH,
Chris

Connie, are you using a float valve or a float switch (and solenoid valve)?  Is it leaking at the valve?  If so, cut an inch or two off the end of the 1/4" line and re-insert it into the compression fitting.  Tighten as tight as you can with just your fingers.  If it's still leaking have your husband give it a go.

Connie,

If you are using a kent marine float valve take thread tape and wrap it around the ro line after the fitting then tighten it kent valves leak allways there

This is the fitting you need. I know you are dealing with 1/4 inch tubing and I thing that the treads on the kent float valve are 1/4 inch as well.

You can try some of the other local stores. Places that deal with ro units like Culligan may have them.

Eric, do you cary any john guest fittings ? If you sell the kent top off valve this fitting would be a great upgrade. They are much easier and they dont leak.

I am still glad to get that fitting for you. It may need to be ordered. If that is the case I would shut off the water for a day or two and just top off the old fasion way. Please send me a pm or call if I can help you.

I guys... Thanks for your input.. It is a kent and it is leaking only at the joint not the tank.. In fact now I have shut down the R/O and the pressure is gone it is not leaking at all... My hubby said he will pick something up tomorrow.. (scary) Eric, if he does not suceed, so you sell another brand that does not leak. He might actully tell me to go to see you.. Now that would be a first
