Not sure if eggs is the right term, but my cerith snails leave trails of hundreds of white egg-like objects on my mag-float which I leave in my tank.

If they are eggs, who can tell me the incubation period, what type of environment they need to survive, and other helpful info?

I do have a small 5 gallon refugium, I assume I should try to get them into the refugium for starters.

You can't swim with the big fish if you spawn like a guppy!

Very recent pics and discussion have provided some answers if you search for "Cerith".

There are about 10,000 eggs in a 6" looped string. The number that survive depends on what kind of predators you have. Fish and shrimp eat them off the glass. Coral eat them in their free floating stage. Shrimp, hermits and who knows what else, eat them after they land. I haven't paid much attention, but I believe they hatch in 3-4 days.

After they land, they stay in the sand for a long time, but in the absence of predators will come out on the surfaces. They can be seen crawling on the glass. A magnifying glass and jewelers loop can help you see them in the sand and on the glass.

Thanks Mark.

I searched like you said and found everything I needed.  I appreciate your help.  Where do I send a check for membership for the remaining year?  How much?

It looks like if I want these eggs to have a chance I need to put them in my refugium where the only predator is the gravity fed outflow into my tank bearing and a cleaner shrimp with a smile from exoskeleton to exoskeleton

And I need to learn to relax and enjoy green  tinted aquarium glass for a while after I see the eggs.

I'm not sure that you could scrape them off and put them in the Refugium, but the larvae get there anyway as they float in the water.

See the thread I just did about WMAS Membership. Since you are a past member, renewal is the full $24. For new members it's a bargain at $22 for the entire month of Feb.

So only $22 for a full year membership? But only if I act in the month of Feb., right? Boy what a deal, I should act soon!
