Hey Guys, I've got a topless 29G Biocube with a celling mount MH Pendant. Nervous about losing fish out the top. Thinking about putting a custom cut piece of Acrylic over the top, just concerned about salt creep and light penetration?

What do you think?

The answer of course is neither!

My wife has a 29 biocube. With a MH on top, we removed the stock hood and put a sunpod on it. We then used this: http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/store/clear-1-4-screen-netting-7-x-3.html
With a screen door kit. BRS has all the instructions on how to build it. Total cost? Less then 20 bucks for the best top you can get for any tank.

If that's not enough to convince you Ryan is running a group buy for BRS that starts on the 28th . . . so get it for even cheaper then it already is.

Just made it square so it does stick out over the curve a little bit but honestly when looking at it you can't even tell.

Acrylic actually does not work well for covers on tanks and sumps. Acrylic tends to warp badly over time when used this way. If you like the look and idea of acrylic, try using polycarbonate instead of acrylic it will hold up better over time.
