Usually when they look like that they are usually bleached out.
Multiple things can cause this, lighting, water, ect.
More than likely color up  when they get settled in.

+1 to that. The only pure white zoanthus corals I know of grow on Spider Sponges, which are very uncommon, and hard to keep.

Interesting! I am surprised they didn't tell you that it was most likely bleached out. It will be cool to see what color it ends up being.

They can take a long time to get color back too. I bleached my captain americas out when I sold off my sixty cube and they are still white to this day and it has been several months.

You are fortunate it was something good.Smile

When I was new in this hobby I saw a shrimp poking it's eye stalks out of a small rock at the LFS. I asked the clerk how much? $1 was the answer, so how could I resist taking home this "jewel" which, unfortunately, ended up being a real nuisance.
What was it?
A Mantis Shrimp. Angry
Ever since then, I have made sure I know more than the LFS by asking lots of questions and verifying the answers here before making a purchase.
Big smile

Why does everyone hate Mantis Shrimps so bad.  I actually really like them and would like to own one.  Even if I have to set up a system for one.  The peacock mantis is awesome.
