I woke up this morning to a murky tank and can't figure out why? I lost a chromis and I don't want to loose any other fish. I haven't changed anything in the tank but I built some screen tops for my tank yesterday could this be the cause? Please help!

did you have some die off from your calupera? This tend to be a very common thing for them.

Nope not really anything close to do that. It's starting to clear up by its self. I don't know what it was but I lost a fish and I hope I don't lose another.

You should check those parameters because a cloudy tank can easily be a spike in ammonia nitarate and phosphates. And that would explain the fish death.

My tank did this two weeks ago. had aquatic come out and when i febreezed the house it almost crashed my tank ....went into a mini cycle, all good now but it was a scare! So if you have used fabreeze or any products in the room with the tank it will do it.

Nope havent used anything like that around it. That I know of, my wife could of! Right now the tank is looking normal but some of the corals are not extended like normal so tomorrow im going to get the water tested to see the outcome.

It could be a bacterial bloom and the reduced oxygen in the water caused the fish to die. It is common in new tanks.

I speak with Josh often and as his tank is so new and he relies on LFS for testing and never has an exact reading provided to him , I would tend to guess that there is an issue with his water parameters that he is not aware of yet. FOLLOW what i have told you !! Water test test reveal tons of great info !!!!!

Josh all my advice is just my 02 , listen and read what all here have to teach. I would guess that 98-99% of the people here know way more than i do , I only consider myself an amature at best. But you are in the right place to learn from successfull reef keepers!!!!!
