Ok. So story goes I was going to buy my carbon when I stumbled across chemi-pure. Says it last ssix months and works better then carbon for crystal clear water and removes ammonia and nitrate nitrite, yada yada. Does anyone here use this and in your experience does it really last for six months and make that big of a difference? I am really getting sick of buying carbon so this would save a ton of money and time if it really works. So any feedback would be great. thanks.

I use Chemipure Elite, but I'm not a good one to ask about using it long term because I've only had a tank since mid-May and began using in about mid-June. So far my testing has been excellent and I use no carbon. I doubt I will use it for 6 months though. That just seems like a very long time time to me. I'm thinking maybe replace in 4 months.

I got some Chemi-Pure Elite at one of the Mountain West Reef Fests. It performed as expected. However, It looked like it was mostly Activated carbon, but it did have other "stuff" mixed in. What I liked about it, was its ease of use. Simply open the container, everything is in one bag, ready to use.

In a small tank it would work great. But with bigger tanks it would be cheaper to buy bulk carbon and gfo. Its kind of expensive for mostly carbon with a little gfo sprinkled in.

What. Is that really all it is. Carbon and gfo? If so how does it last so long? I hope its more then that and works well. Everyone seems to be happy with it and say it works grat. I hope it does I just ordered a bunch.

Ive used it ever since I started a nano. Like said above its easy to use. I replace mine ever 3 months though.

Wow. That's about it. This stuff is great. I added it and within the next 24 hours my tank is crystal clear. Love it.
