which lights strengths are the best? 10k 12k....how does these work? im looking at t5 ho...with some leds? im needing to light a 65 gal tank with mostly softies-hammers frog, candy, zoas etc...little or no sps at this time

That depends on you. The higher the number is the darker blue the light is.

Lighting can get a bit confusing. For a 65 gallon tank with just softies T5 high output lighting should be fine. I would recomend a 4 bulb fixture. Most will come with 2 10k whites and 2 actinic blues. This is a good starting point for a beginer. Led fixtures are nice but can cost you a bit up front.

I think you would be much Happier with a good T5 fixture, This set up will grow Acro,chalices,Zoa, SPS,LPS with amazing color, You can arrange the bulbs for desired color as well as growth, TEK and ATI have great fixtures and look into ATI bulbs to round out the spectrum. Th

IMO no, It would prob be ok for some one just starting out but that isnt a fixture for long term use, you get what you pay for. If they were great everone wouldnt spend 4-5 times that for just a fixture alone
