They sell mostly Bridgelux and Epiled. I have ordered from them before and had very good luck with them. Not to mentio that the price is hard to beat if you can order enough to get the free shipping.

I have a set of diy bridgelux they are great. I have 90 leds over my 90 gal. I run them no higher than 50 percent

48 would not be enough light over a 75. I have 37 LEDs over my 28G and 20 over my 10G (mainly for spectrum. I could probably use fewer but is use lots of spectrum in my layouts). So I may not be able to run them at 100% (not that you would really want to) but I can sure tune the color of the light as well as the colors of the corals the way I like them.

Bill at Saltwater Paradise runs these LEDs over his main display tank as well as his high-end frag tank with great growth and color results.

+1
More leds
more colors
better coverage
no spotlights
Just run them at a lower percentage

That is completely subjective but here is what I have been doing with very good results. I run 60/40 ratio. 60% blues (split 50/50 between Royal blue and blue) and 40% white ( random mix of 10000K, 6500K, 4800K and 2500K). then I add 1 UV for every 10 gallons of water, and 1 Deep red, 1 Green, and 1 Pink for every 20 gallons of water. There are new Actinic violets available now but I have not tried them yet so I don't know their effect or look.

Layout of the LEDs on the heatsync is a much harder thing as you have to consider which dimmers are connected to which LEDs, driver loading, wire routing, etc.

   hope that helps. KrazieClown
