| So in my other post I said my salinity dropped to 1.020 its now at 1.024. Looking in the tank tonight a large part of my Lokani dropped its flesh. Is there a way to stop it ? This colony is big and one of my prized pieces. Please respond as fast as you can !! |

Smooth "skinned" SPS are usually more sensitive to quick changes. Fraging off a good piece is the only way I know of to save any of the coral.

Ohh, yes, I wouldn't dip in CoralRx. Smooth-skinned acros are very sensitive to it. I would dip in Lugols or another iodine-based dip instead. Fragging the coral, as painful as it is to do, may help signal a survival response in the coral, especially if you frag into healthy tissue. You may have noticed this when you frag in general - a regularly fragged coral tends to grow faster than a coral left on its own. Unfortunately, these corals are just very sensitive. There's no guarantee that fragging it will save it. | Find the problem , fix the problem , feed the colony heavily. I saved mine , it's now recovering nicely. |

| I cut two small frags from where I could just in case the rest died off. I didn't dip it because smooth skin sps don't do well with iodine dip. I figured it would just stress it worse. I just fed it my home made coral food heavily once a day and it now has almost all the flesh back. |
