both are mag 24 pumps, one has an 18ft cable and 1 had a 10 ft. the 10ft specifies good for aquariums and the 18ft says good for ponds.

am i missing something? the pond has a bit more head pressure? everything else seems about the same, is the pond usable in an aquarium?

I've read that they are the same pump. Only difference is the length of the power cord.

Yep, cord length is the only difference. They just figure power for a pond may be further away than for a typical tank.
