ABOUT CHAD CLAYTON:
Chad got into the marine aquarium hobby when he was 14 and quickly realized he wanted to pursue a career in the aquatics profession. Four years later, he moved to Florida to start his journey at Florida Institute of Technology. In 1997, after graduating with a degree in Marine Biology and another in Aquaculture, Chad couldn’t wait to start his career. He has worked in a few different sectors of aquaculture since then and has successfully bred over 40 species of marine fish and invertebrates.

Chad's professional background includes molecular biology research with the zebra fish, Dania Rerio (Washington University School of Medicine - St. Louis, MO), commercial marine ornamental aquaculture (Oceans, Reefs & Aquariums - Ft. Pierce, FL), and food fish aquaculture (the former Kona Blue Water Farms - Kona, HI).

This experience and education has led him to his current position at Reed Mariculture; where, after 13 years, he is working primarily with copepods. Aquaculture has, and always will be, a big part of Chad's life.

Chad currently lives in Santa Cruz, CA, on the lovely Monterey Bay, with his wife and two young children. Camping, gaming, and WW2 history are a few of Chad's favorite things.
