probably not as much as they want.... how do you keep it 100% dark when you aren't viewing it? i don't see any mention of a cover for it. would be pretty cool to see this in my living room though:  or this  |

With all the extras included such as the EuroReef Skimmer and Titanium Chiller I bet it's a pretty penny. I didn't notice anything about dimensions or volume either. -------------  |

I'll bet they are at least 12K. Maybe more. I would be a pretty cool tank, but I still would rather have a tank for jellies like they have at the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay. A big cylinder with circular water flow and tons of jellies. Those cylindrical tanks also start at about 12k. |

I was impressed with the jelly tank at the gateway! I'd like that donut
tank as a headboard for my bed. You could count the jellies to fall
asleep.

Well here is why I asked about these tanks. I was asked if I wanted to write up a product review on these things. The owner/manufacture of these tanks wants to make a big hit with the hobbyists. I spoke with him on the phone and found out he is shooting for $6,000 for these tanks. Adam ------------- Come to a meeting, they�re fun! |

Wow Adam, you really messed up there. You should have said that you couldn't tell people how cool they were until you had one set up at home for about 6 months so you would know they were worth 6K. He would have had to give you one to determine your thoughts on them. I'll bet there are people who would drop 6k in a heartbeat to be able to keep jellies effectively. There may not be that many, but there are some hobbiests with unlimited funds. For the record I'm not one of them. |

I think there are plenty of people out their willing to pay $6,000 for a jellyfish tank. Of course all of us could do it cheaper with a lot of work and time. I personally wouldn't buy that tank for 6k. It looks like a washing machine.  They need more pics if they really want to sell them. I can't really even see how the viewing area is set up. If they could be versitile enough to use for something other then just jellies it would be a bit more enticing. And if they came in different styles. ------------- Jeff Rasmussen |

Has any body been to the aquarium at Monterey bay, california??? THey have an INCREDIBLE jelly fish setup. It is probably a 50 yard walk through with around 20 or so different jelly tanks, maybe even more. They had some INCREDIBLE stuff. If you are ever out taht way, check that place out, it is well worth the $20 admission price. THough they don't have a huge selection of reef stuff, they do have the hawaiian dragon fish related to the seahorses, awesome animals. It is just incredible too see though, and their giant octopus makes it all worth it :). Take care, ed parker |

The lobster tanks I am familiar with have a covered substrate and get regular water changes. I was thinking that wet/dry doesn't do enough denitrifying for inverts like Jellies. Jake, What am I missing? The lobster tanks used for most live food lobsters have no substrate and rely exclusively on wet/dry filtration (with activated carbon and filter pads to remove large particles).
