Ewing irrigation. Not much value in the schedule 80 for what we do. But you choice.

I agree with Fat. What is this to be used for? Perhaps we can help?

I am building an open top cube that the return will have to come over the top and I like the look of gray schedule 80 vs the white schedule 40. I have looked into the dye that was posted above and I might give that a try for another option.
Does anyone have experience with the dye?

Just for the record. Most PVC pipe and fittings sold at the local home improvement stores around here is schedule 80. Color does not indicate what the schedule of the pipe is. I think what you really meant to ask for is a place to buy gray PVC. I don't think that you care whether it's Sch40 or Sch80. I might be wrong.
It seams like I remember Tyler posting a link a few months back for colored PVC pipe. I know he's trying to move his shop but might be worth asking him. If it's really just gray your looking for then Ewing is a great place to get it. Last time I was there they had sch40 and sch80 in gray.

Krazie, most is Schedule 40. Even the grey fittings (at least according to Ewing). Really doesn't matter cause Erik just wants the grey color.

I'll check again next time I am there. When I was doing sprinkling systems a few years back all of the local home supplies had switched to 80 because most home owners where trenching by hand and were not going deep enough on them. This was causing lots of burst pipes on sprinkling systems and by switching to schedule 80 it would fix this problem.
I guess the real answer is they could have either/both and you would probably have to check the ones in your area.
Erik what about the option of using Krylon Fusion paint to paint the PVC gray or black? It's used all the time in closed loops, overflows, and plumbing on tanks.

I did my entire tank with schedule 80. I did it 100% because of the look. It's WAY over kill and it's probably a waste of extra money, but it looks SO good and clean if you can spend the money on it.
I got all my stuff at Connelys in Salt Lake. They have everything in 80. It's the BIGGEST pain in the butt to pipe. Even dry fitting, most of the time you can't even get it back apart without wrenchs and pliars. Butler piped his 300 with schedule 80 as well. Keep in mind, the cost of it is 4X's as much. You will pay 50 cents for a 40 elbow and 2.00 for an 80 elbow.
There is absolutely no need for 80, the amount of pressure we run in our returns and drains is minimal. 80 is just for the look, IMO.
Here is a link to my plumbing on my thread if you want to check it out. http://utahreefs.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=66993&PN=2&title=400-gallon-starphire-build-mixed-reef

Gray PVC is used for electrical conduit. An electrical supply store will have several sizes. Also, you might consider heating and bending PVC pipe for a smoother look. Exposed PVC fittings are clumsy looking to me. That said, I use black ABS pipe and fittings for the exposed plumbing of my systems. White PVC makes me think of sprinklers. Whoops, does that mean my plumbing resembles a sewer system. Yikes! Aloha, Mark

Where do you get the colored pipe?
Right now I am leaning toward regular white PVC with the option to paint.
Thanks for the help!

The colored pipe looks cool and shows off the the sump well too! (The outlet location looks scary though . . .)
