I just acquired an old EuroReef skimmer with this pump.
Try as I might, I cannot remove the impeller. I am not sure whether it was the impeller or the housing that swelled.
Any tips on removing the impeller without damaging it or the housing?

Is there an economical alternative pump?

Funny, about two weeks ago I was doing the same thing.  I destroyed the impeller getting it out and then thought "why did I spend all that time getting this out if it's just destroyed now anyway."

LOL
It's usually the impeller that has swollen. I'll probably drill out the impeller (small drill bit into the soft magnetic metal impeller) and if the housing is still good, the impeller is only $32, but a new Sedra 3500 is $80 and the PSK-1000 is almost $100. Shocked
