I just purchased this killer huma huma trigger (thanks tazman)! And I put him in the sump.. The inlet has a 1" elbow attached to flexible hose coming from the tank. I noticed the fish was inside the elbow this morning, but I was warned that the fish has weird sleeping habits so I didn't think anything about it.
Well, at lunch the fish was still in the elbow - face first, as if it was going to swim up the tubing coming from the tank. I grabbed its tail (all that was visible) in an attempt to free it from the elbow and what did it do? It triggers itself into the threaded portion of the elbow!
Long story short, it was inextricably stuck! I had to take draing the sump, remove the bulkhead, take off the elbow and cut the pvc to get the stupid fish out! It appeared to be no worse off following the ordeal, but it had to be pretty stressful!
In the end, I replaced the now cut-in-half elbow and covered it with window screen. The trigger will soon have a new home, but I don't want it trying to swim up-stream again!
