Where are the ASM skimmers made? I like supporting American Cmmpanies. I know PM is. how hard would it be to mod that PM skimmer?

Well I'm not sure where the ASM's are made, however, if you buy a used one you are helping the local economy.

I have used many skimmers and the best performing for me is what I currently have. It is an AquaC EV1000. I think the spray injection technology is a great way to make consistant bubbles. It works wonders for me. I haven't ever owned a higher end needle wheel pump such as the ATB, so I cant compare it to that, but it is better than the EuroReef, AquaEuroUSA, and Corallife skimmers I have used.

I just don't care for a softies tank or an algae filled tank. I like an SPS dominated tank and there are very few of those here on the site.

I just thought I would let you know, just for fun, I counted all my SPS varieties in my tank right now...32...now I don't know if that's "dominated" or not, but it seems to be doing pretty good with my ASM G1 (I think, I actually don't know which exact model it is LOL)

Now I am not trying to show-off, but rather trying to show others what is possible. The shots below are from my tank (90g) last week. Sorry they are so blurry (handheld, low light iphone pics). In them you can see some of my colonies are doing quite well without $600+ of skimming. I have my little ASM and a $40 ozone generator.

This thread is interesting. I need your input in Aqua C EV-240 skimmer. What do you think about this skimmer. I'm planning to buy a use one soon.

Thanks,

The aquaC ev series skimmers do work very well. The only down side to them is they take a large pump to power them. I have owned and built a few look alikes of them and they do work fairly well.
