I have several little starfish in my tank that have different amount of arms. Some have 3, 4, or six arms. Are these safe or bad?

Don't asternia always have 6 (full or missing) arms?

I had those in my old tank, and I could never get rid of them. They can totally take over a tank. I pulled them out every chance I got.

They are fine. Over feeding will make them explode in numbers. Some do eat coral but they are few and far apart. If you have a ton add a harlequin shrimp and it will eat them up.

What Dion said.

If you do get a harlequin, plan to feed it choc chip starfish once the asterina are erradicated. Or, if you can capture it - trade it back to the LFS.

Good luck!
