I haven't tried it but it think it would be cool to look down on the corals and clams. I dont find fish as attractive from the top though. It would also be tough to light and maintain IMO.

i had a friend that had a large glass snake cage as his coffee table. it was pretty cool. i remember seeing an aquarium coffee table for sale on ksl last year.

If it is anything like all of the fish tanks I have owned -- gunk will build up at the water level and it will not look clean anymore.
