My pump just died on my ASM G-1. It uses a Sedra 2500. I thought I've heard before that the G-1x just has a better pump. Is that true? If I go with the Sedra 3500 will it work?

If i am correct asm no longer use Sedra pumps they use a cheap rio like pump, you can still get sedra needle wheel pumps, and yes the 3500 will work on this skimmer

The mag 12 is WAY too big for that skimmer. The sedra 3500 runs at 350 gph, the 2500 runs at 250 gph and the mag 12 runs at 1200 gph. The G1 is designed to run closer to the 2500. Overkill doesn't mean better performance

The big difference between the two of them is the G1-X is close to a 1in taller and 1/2" wider. But you can run the sedra 3500 pump on a G1. I will just take alittle bit more adjustment to get it to work but it will work.

what do you mean by "adjustment"? Is the 3500 much larger in size to the 2500?

The g-1 is a tiny bit smaller than the g-1x and the X runs a sedra 3500. I run a stock X on my 120 and it does great.The 3500 will mount right up to a g-1. The adjustments need to be done on the tube the water comes out of
