Topic: Neon gobies Posted: May 21 2007 at 10:06pm |

So, I have 3 tangs in my tank (blue hippo, yellow, sailfin). I have a black and blue neon gobie, which I got because I thought it was supposed to "service the tankmates". But the thing is I have yet to see it servicing any of them. So my question is, do they only do this at night? Is this something that not all of them do? My blue hippo has ich, (of course!), and I have taken every precaution possible other than a QT. I mean, UV, good skimmer, cleaner shrimp, and the neon gobie. So if the other things aren't working I really need this gobie to pull through for me!

Perhaps I would be better at basket weaving. . . at least it would be cheaper!

Neon gobies do clean. Do you know if they are wild caught or tank raised. I guess if they are tank raised they might not. The problem with neon gobies are that they are also prone to ich. How many cleaner shrimp do you have?

Its tank raised, I didn't think it would make a difference. I just have one cleaner shrimp but I guess I need to buy a couple more. How many can you keep in a 75?

I try to keep one cleaner shrimp for every tang. You could keep quite a few in a 75g.
