Some of you mentioned frequent water changes in the place of a skimmer. How frequent and how much? I'm afraid to change too much with only about 5 gallons of water in the tank after rock and all, I don't want to disrupt the balance, what is a good amount and interval?

A good rule of thumb would be 10 percent per week. Half a gallon is all you would need to change.
Here is what a customer said while on hold Oh my gosh! Did you open the door? I told you not to open the door. Dre is in here completely naked and he's got freak'n Macaroni and Cheese in his hands.

In any reef aquarium, 10% monthly water changes should be sufficient. There is really no need to change water more frequently just because there is no skimmer or the tank is smaller. If you would like to see the evidence of this, come visit me anytime or take the opportunity to visit our home on the Reef Tour. We are just one of 4 other homes in the Murray area. You can see a lot of tanks in a short amount of time in Murray on the 9th. That's the Saturday after next.Smile

We have done a good job of promoting Fragstock but we failed to mention the Reef Tour, just 2 days afterwards. Scroll down on the homepage for the upcoming events and also go here for as much as we have: http://www.utahreefs.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=45969

More to come so keep your eyes peeled. Smile

I was at Fragstock 2 years back over at Sugarhouse park right?

The forums needs an overhaul, who handles the web stuff?
