I've been keeping freshwater fish for a few years and picked up a spare light a while back, but I've got no idea what to do with it.   And haven't found information online about it, I assume it's just a bit old.

I figured it was for a salt water tank, and this is the only salt water site I'm familiar with,  any help would be apprieciated.

I haven't found a model number so here's a photo (or two).

I'm used to simple one bulb lights Smile.

Are you looking to get rid of it?
If so, I may be interested.
I always need a spare.

I want to know about it first...if I don't actually set up a salt water tank I may get rid of it.

Is this one designed for a 29 gallon tank?  Am I missing the "legs" or mounts to set it up?

The fixture can be used for planted freshwater tanks or saltwater reef tanks. It just depends on which bulbs you use. For planted tanks use "Daylight" and for saltwater use 50/50 and/or actinics.

Mike

So the bulbs in it now (50/50 55watt & actinics 55watt) would be a salt water setup?

How would I get this mounted to the tank?  It's just too short to fit directly to the tank, where would I get the hardware to fix it to a tank?

I've only tried it sitting on the glass tops of my 125s, just for grins and giggles, but want to know what this light it best for.

That's correct. The bulbs in there now are for a saltwater setup. It you want to use it on a planted freshwater tank then just change out the bulbs.

There were probably some legs made for it but I don't know for sure. You could also mount or hang in in a canopy or make your own legs. Possibly mounted to the ends and made from acrylic.

WELCOME to the board!
