Oh and congrats on the reactor!  Dialing it in will not be too fun, but after that you'll love it!

I hear you and you are welcome! With the environmental fee and such, I think it is right about at $20.00.

I'd suggest opening the yellow pages under "welding supplies" and maybe "beverage supplies" and maybe "fire extinguishers" and find the cheapest or closest

My brother fills his large paintball tank up for around $15 from paintball stores and it's a pretty good sized tank you might look under paintball and compare prices.

i went with a CR6X18 GEO Reactor ... i found a package that had everything included: 8 lbs. of ARM media, Co2 Regulator with Selenoid, T10 Co2 Tank, Maxi Jet 1200, and the SMS122 Milwaukee pH Controller.

the circulating pump is a EHEIM 1048 and the feed pump is a Maxi Jet 1200 ...

i have been running 2 maxi jets in my tank and they have always been pretty good to me ... sorry to hear you've had bad luck with them.

Corey,

Let me know how it goes. I've been having a heck of a time tuning mine. I finally started over yesterday.

I'm starting AGAIN with about 25 bpm / 20 ml/min flow rate. I'm trying to get my effluent pH to about 6.8 When I measured it last night it was 6.3!

If you are running a single stage reactor like me  try to run the effluent through your protein skimmer. I just stuck the effluent hose into the air intake of my skimmer. It hasn't affected the skimmer at all and my Ph has gone back up to 7.8-7.9 with my Ca at 420. Alk has also stabalized. Just a bit if my experience.

thanks carl. yes it is a sinle stae reactor and i'll give that a try it. i don't know how much of a problem i'll have w/ my Ph ... it tends to run pretty high anyway, so...

I'll report back as i go.
